The fluorescent river is still
Now,
Where, when fireflies blinked, and
The sigh of a passing paddle piercing
the troughs drowned out
the song of the frogThe nyapa waves
Scimitar blades, at crouching mangrove
And silver-tongued birdcall
Duet with the growl of the
Tom-toms pulsing
Foretelling a rebirth
